Limassol (Lemesos)

The city of Lemesos is situated in a picturesque location on the shores of the Bay of Akrotiri, between the two ancient city kingdoms of Amathus to the east and Kourion to the west. It is within an hour's drive from the capital Lefkosia to the north, the port/airport cities of Larnaka to the east and Paphos to the west and the main mountain resorts of the Troodos range. With a population of around 200,000, Limassol is the second largest town on the island, and is situated midway between Paphos and Larnaca. It is well known for being a bustling cosmopolitan metropolis, as well as a town steeped in history.

Restaurants and taverns serve a whole range of local, regional and international dishes. It is famous for the variety of its night entertainment, its tavernas with bouzouki music, modern discos and steamy nightclubs. The hospitality and lively nature of the people of Lemesos is well known to both Cypriots and foreign visitors alike.
